The stone Bruce is working on is Rosa Verde, a pink marble from Portugal. Bruce's study of the Möbius curve is ever present in his new work. The stone suggests the form. Bruce lets the veining of the stone guide and release the sculpture from it's confines as a whole. He continues to chip away at the parts that make it feel heavy. It's crucial to let the eye glide across the sculpture, without stopping. That is the test of a fine sculptor, to keep the interest of the viewer from all angles.
